FRP Liner for Walk-In Fume Hoods

CS1000 liner board for floor-mounted walk-in hoods: Class A fire rated, chemical resistant and easy to fabricate in large panels

Floor-mounted walk-in fume hoods are built for work that will not fit on a bench: large apparatus, pilot equipment, drums, carts and tall distillation setups. Their tall interiors and wide side walls put more liner board into every hood, so the liner you choose has a big effect on cost, weight and build time.

What Walk-In Hood Liners Need

  • Class A fire rating: most specifications require an ASTM E84 flame spread of 25 or less across the full liner area

  • Chemical resistance across large surfaces that see splashes and vapors at floor level

  • Manageable weight: large panels have to be handled, fitted and fastened by your production team

  • Clean, flat panels that join neatly at seams and around baffles, service fixtures and lighting

Why CS1000 Works for Walk-In Hoods

  • UL Listed and ASTM E84 Class A, with flame spread 15 and smoke developed 250

  • SEFA 3 tested across 49 reagents with a pass result

  • About 1.7 lb per square foot at 3/16", far lighter than epoxy resin or stainless steel panels of the same size

  • Cuts, routs and drills with standard carbide tooling for liner walls, rear baffles and side panels

  • Installs with adhesive or mechanical fastening

  • Smooth, white, non-porous surface that brightens the hood interior and wipes clean

Sheet Sizes for Tall Hood Interiors

CS1000 is supplied in 4' x 8' sheets. Custom sheet sizes are available on volume orders, which can reduce seams and scrap on tall walk-in liners. Tell us your liner panel dimensions and we will quote the most efficient sheet size.

Supply That Matches Your Build Schedule

Walk-in hoods use a lot of liner per unit, so running short stalls the line. ChemShield supplies CS1000 on spot orders from one bunk of 50 sheets or on blanket POs with scheduled monthly releases, with a standard 12-week lead time.
