CS1000 Fume Hood Liner FAQ

What is the best liner material for a fume hood?

FRP liner board is the most common choice for general-purpose fume hoods. It resists a wide range of chemicals, is easy to fabricate and costs less than the alternatives. Stainless steel, epoxy resin or polypropylene are used for specialty work such as perchloric acid or radioisotopes.

What flame spread rating does a fume hood liner need?

Most specifications call for an ASTM E84 flame spread of 25 or less (Class A). CS1000 is Class A, with flame spread 15 and smoke developed 250 (QAI Laboratories, August 2025).

Is CS1000 UL Listed and SEFA tested?

Yes. CS1000 is UL Listed and passed SEFA 3 chemical-resistance testing at Gaynes Labs in June 2025 across 49 reagents.

What thickness and sheet size is available?

CS1000 is 3/16" thick and supplied in 4' x 8' sheets. Custom sizes are available on volume orders.

Can CS1000 replace our current liner board?

In most hoods, yes. It cuts, routs and drills with standard carbide tooling, and we supply samples for your qualification testing.

Do you offer blanket purchase orders or stocking agreements?

Yes. We hold dedicated inventory for your account and ship scheduled monthly releases at locked pricing.

What is your lead time and minimum order?

Lead time is 12 weeks from PO, and the minimum order is one bunk of 50 sheets. Blanket POs bring inventory in ahead of your releases.

Where do you ship from?

We ship palletized freight nationwide from Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Is FRP liner board suitable for perchloric acid hoods?

No. Perchloric acid hoods need stainless steel with a wash-down system. CS1000 is intended for general-purpose and teaching-lab hoods.
